our love story
Carrie and Chet had their last first date about two and a half years ago, over a plate of saganaki that Carrie begrudgingly shared. It did not take long to realize the connection felt different. There was no big production to it. They met, talked, laughed, and kept wanting more of the same.
From the beginning, Carrie was clear about the most important part of her life: her son, Andres. She wanted a partner who would truly step into the reality of her world, not simply observe it from the sidelines. “Chet” eventually became “Dad”, naturally, fully, and without hesitation.
Along the way, he also welcomed Millie, Carrie’s eight-year-old boxer, into his lap, then their bed, and eventually his heart. Before long, the life they were building together in Westmont stopped feeling new and started feeling foundational.
These days, that life is lively, fast-moving, and rarely quiet, thanks to Andres, now seven. Family time looks like white-boarding math problems, cheering at basketball and soccer games, practicing magic, ranking the best candy, and planning the next Halloween party.
Romance, for them, is stolen moments throughout the week, the occasional tasting menu experience, or settling in together to watch a Patriots or Packers game. Their relationship draws its strength from that simplicity: it is steady, supportive, honest, and fun.
That same spirit has shaped the blending of their families, too. Over the past year, the Campbell’s from Wisconsin and the Reshamwala’s from Massachusetts have shared plenty of laughs, stories, and of course ribbings.
When Chet decided to propose, he knew it could not be just about the two of them. It had to include the two others who mean the most to Carrie: Andres and Millie. After an ordinary Sunday breakfast together, Carrie and Chet came home to find Andres waiting with a sign that said, "Mom, will you marry Dad?" Then Chet got down on one knee, with Millie beside him wearing a handkerchief with the very same message.
It was thoughtful, personal, and completely true to who they are.
Their story has never been about grand gestures for the sake of it. It has been about building something real: a relationship, a home, and a family. They cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people they love most.
